Picture Tiles
Sometimes an image or idea is best conveyed in its entirety. For these I draw the picture directly onto large tiles first, then, using glazes as the "paint", colorize the various areas. Borders can be added of smaller tile mosaics to add interest and dimension. There is a process currently available whereby images from actual photographs can be fired onto a ceramic tile which opens up a whole new realm of possibility for this picture tile process.
